Padova

We went to Padova by train. Parking a car is almost impossible for a visitor and Italian cities have not yet heard of the concept of Park and Ride. Padova has a very smart new tram which goes from the railway station to the edge of town along one street - perfect to have a car park on the end of it.

Padova was a Roman town and fragments of the amphitheatre exist in a park close to the Scrovegni chapel. One of the piazzas (Prato delle Valle) is built on top of the Roman Theatre.
