Ham House and garden is a National Trust property. It was largely created by the Duchess of Lauderdale during the 17th century, before and after the Civil War. The lavish interiors have survived mostly intact and there are outstanding collections of art, textiles and furniture. Many of the outbuildings have survived. A very early example of a Still Room, a Ice House and a Dairy (with very unusual legs shaped like a cow's rear legs).
