We visited Hampton Court palace on Friday 31st July 2009. Parking was fairly easy at the far end of the park with a walk of about 300 yards to the entrance. There were celebrations taking place to mark 500 years since the accession to the throne of King Henry VIII, including a celebration of the wedding to his sixth wife, Kateryn Parr.  We did not participate, just doing the tours of the vast palace.
