We travelled from Desenzano del Garda to Chamonix via the Mont Blanc Tunnel on our way to visit the chateau at Versailles.

We went up the cable car for the Aiguille du Midi, but only went 1 section, 1000m to 2317m altitude.
Later, we travelled on the electric rack railway to Montenvers to visit the Glace du Mer glacier and ice grotto.
View down from the railway, preserved steam loco used until 1954, we also travelled on the Mont Blanc Express to Servoz and back to Chamonix.
