Langeais
Langeais is a mixture of medieval fortress and Renaissance castle - from the outside medieval, from the courtyard Renaissance. Up the hill above the present chateau is the original tower erected by Foulques Nerra, the ferocious Comte d'Anjou. He seized Lageais in 994 and then went on to attack his rival, the Comte de Blois at Tours.
