Chinon - Castle and Town

We visited Chinon on our first full day staying at Pouant - Tuesday 20th May. The castle was a royal castle in it's day and England's royalty are included. It has suffered over the years and now some restoration is now being done on the main buildings. The town retains much of it's medieval layout and some buildings. Various building works have been done, such as the statue of Joan of Arc. The space around was cleared to make a market place.
