Day 6 - Wednesday 13th May

Today we went to Brighton .  We parked on the Park & Ride car park and took the bus down to the sea front.  We explored the 'Lanes' - those narrow streets just behind the seafront.  Last time we were there - 45 years ago - there were lots of antique shops and bric-a-brac shops.  Now it is all jewellers and cafés. We explored the pier and took a ride on Volk's Electric Railway.  Fortunately, the weather was dry with some sunshine. The wind was cold along the beach.

Long Man of Wilmington - On the way back from Brighton we drove east to find the Long Man of Wilmington, a human figure cut into a chalk hill.  There are also the site or ruins of a priory which we did not try to find.  The photographs of the figure were taken from the car park.
