We decided to visit Kent for one of our UK holidays this year because we had not been for quite a few years, particularly the northern end which we wanted to visit.  There are several places that we have never visited - Hever Castle, Bodiam Castle, Chartwell, Leeds Castle (although we have still not been there as we did not include it this year) despite having lived in the area for 3 years in the 1960s. The weather generally was dry except for Thursday 14th May, when it rained all day after about 10.00am.  Otherwise is was dry, windy sometimes and quite sunny at times.

Day 2    Ightham Mote, Knole, Quebec House

Day 3    Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens

Day 4    Chartwell, Chiddingstone Castle and Gardens, Hever Castle.

Day 5    Bodiam Castle, Bateman's

Day 6    Brighton, Long Man of Wilmington

Day 7    Tunbridge Wells.
