A One week holiday based on Caernarfon, North Wales - Saturday 22nd August 2009

Home    Wales   Saturday  Sunday  Monday  Tuesday  Wednesday  Thursday  Friday

We travelled home along the A55 coast road as far as Chester and then travelled south past Chester to Wraxham. We wished to visit a national Trust property called Erddig. This large house had been in the same family for 200+ years but was in a very neglected state when acquired by National Trust in 1973. It had not been altered since about 1900 and had no electricity or mains water. Outbuildings contain a steam engine and boiler to operate belt driven machinery such as rotary log saw, lime mortar mill. There is also a later oil engine that can be coupled in.
