Sunday 7th June

The day started off fairly well, with moderate breeze and sunshine. After lunch it deteriorated with stronger winds and some heavy rain.

We drove along the coast road south past Ventnor and stopped at St Catherine's Down for coffee.  Afterwards we continued on to Alum Bay car park. After a walk through the shops and a visit to the beach via the chairlift we had lunch in the car park. Then we walked along to the Needles Old Battery and later to the New Battery. Whilst we were in the New Battery it started to rain and we got quite wet walking back to the car park.

On the way back we visited the Newtown Old Town Hall.
