A holiday on the Isle of Wight 6th - 13th June 2009
Home Wight Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Friday
Thursday 11th June
We visited St Catherine's Lighthouse - it was not open so we could only look from nearby. we also climbed up to St Catherine's Oratory on top of the downs. It was a stiff climb and very windy. We then continued along the coast and stopped at Brook Chine for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon we continued along to Calbourne to visit the water mill then Winkle Street. The latter is a pedestrian only street of old cottages with a stream on the other side of the street. On the way back to Shanklin we stopped in Brighstone for an ice cream. Later we found an Italian restaurant in Shanklin where we had Pollo Vesuvio (chicken breast with a tomato sauce and melted cheese).
