Day 7 - Thursday 4th October
Today we walked from the hamlet of Grinsdale to the finish at Bowness on Solway, a distance of about 12 miles. After setting off at 9.30am, the going was fairly flat but the fields were very wet. We walked most of it along roads due to diversions in place and our decision about the state of the fields. We met Edwin at lunchtime and had our picnic on a convenient bench overlooking the Solway Firth. The weather was sunny but with a cold wind. We arrived at the finish point at about 2.45pm.
Elaine restarting after lunch Talking with another walker going alone in the opposite direction
Elaine and Marcus at the finish. Outside the King's Arms Pub (closed so we could not get a celebratory drink)
